Account safety and trustworthy links

Keep login details private when following a community invitation, downloading the mod or asking for help.

Start from a known address

The project website is crownfallroleplay.com. The official community invite is linked from the site. For mod downloads, follow the link in Preparing to join to the official KCD:MP website.

Check the actual address before entering information. A familiar name or picture in a message is not enough to identify a website or sender. A secure-connection symbol also does not make a lookalike address the project website.

If someone sends an unexpected sign-in link, return to the known project address yourself rather than continuing through their message. Do not install an attachment offered as a special way around closed access.

Keep login information to yourself

Do not share your Discord password, recovery information or two-factor authentication codes. Do not paste them into a community chat, a form sent by a stranger or a screenshot for a helper.

An account username is a display name, not a reason to trust a payment, instruction or request for a secret. Take particular care with messages that create urgency or ask you to prove ownership by giving away a code.

Use the security settings of your Discord account to protect it, and keep recovery information somewhere you control. If you suspect that account has been accessed by someone else, use Discord's own account-security and recovery options; do not send more credentials to the person who contacted you.

Treat connection codes as private

If a joining process gives you a connection code, use it only for the connection you started and the instructions reached from the official site. Do not post it publicly or send it to someone who offers to finish the process for you.

Read a confirmation before agreeing. If the account, character or action does not match what you intended, stop rather than approve it to see what happens.

Share the problem, not the account

Useful help information includes the article address, a short description of your action, the time the problem happened and the message on screen. For installation issues, the game and mod version numbers also help.

Before sharing a screenshot, remove login codes, private messages and unrelated personal information. Do not post a full account page when a small section explains the issue. See community help for choosing a place to ask.

Be careful on shared devices

Avoid saving passwords on a computer used by other people. When a service offers sign-out, use it after your visit and check that your private page is no longer available to the next person. Closing a tab alone is not a reliable way to end a sign-in session.

Never assume that leaving a website also closes a game connection. Handle each service you used deliberately. If a link or request remains doubtful, pause and ask a general question without sending the sensitive information itself.
