Choosing a region chart

A courier receives a parcel from a trader before setting out towards town.

Decide how you want to discover the region before buying a chart. Read what it reveals, check the offer and confirm only when the choice suits you.

Decide whether you want the chart

The chart reveals the terrain of the Kuttenberg region without naming places you have not discovered. It helps you see the shape of the land; it does not identify every person, service or danger along a route.

This terrain reveal cannot be undone in the current game. Decide before buying whether you prefer to see that terrain or discover your route gradually. A chart is optional: it does not unlock gathering, crafting or permission to work.

Read the offer

Near the parcel collection point, press F8 to inspect the chart offer. Check its current price, stock, condition and weight, then compare the price with your available money. One chart is offered per character, and the stock is finite.

Journal advice may lead you here after a delivery, but does not hold a chart for you. A sold-out offer is not a reason to repeat a purchase or assume the chart will appear after reconnecting.

Confirm once

If you agree to the price and reveal, confirm the purchase and wait for its result. If the result is uncertain, check that same purchase rather than paying again. A balance update may arrive later than the purchase reply.

The owned chart appears under Other in F7. The chart stays personal to your character; it is not a parcel to carry for a delivery or ordinary goods to sell to another person. Selling, transferring and returning it are not provided.

Read the map with care

Terrain visibility and knowledge of a named place are different. Do not assume a name has been discovered because the surrounding land is visible. A chart also does not show another player's hidden location or make an illustrated community map a surveyed route.

After returning to the game, check chart ownership before trying to buy another. If the view is loading or unavailable, wait for the outcome rather than treating the missing display as proof that the chart was lost.

Carry on without a purchase

You can follow a known task, talk to other travellers or choose materials and production instead. Declining the offer does not require you to stop your first session. /help trade, when it lists the chart offer, reminds you how to inspect it.
