Character groups

Join a group by agreement, understand your role and keep shared money and responsibilities distinct from your own affairs.
Open your groups
Press F3 or enter /factions to open your groups and invitations. Select a group to view your role and its member list. Available actions depend on your role.
Check your groups in the cabinet
In the cabinet, open “My factions” and select a world. The list shows the groups your character belongs to there: their names, types, your role and the number of members. Refresh the list for current information; use “Next page” or “First page” to browse longer lists.
An empty membership list means your character has not joined a group in that world. It is different from having no character there or being unable to load the list. If loading fails, try refreshing later. Refreshing does not change your membership.
The cabinet provides a summary. Join or leave groups, review invitations, view the member roster and use the treasury in the game.
Accept an invitation
An invitation is addressed to a particular character. The recipient decides whether to accept or decline. Sending an invitation alone does not make someone a member.
Open the invitation and choose “Join the group” or “Decline.” Before accepting, find out what the group does and what its members expect of one another.
After you join, members can see your character's name in the group roster. This does not automatically introduce you to everyone in the world.
Roles and responsibilities
Groups have members, officers and a leader. A role determines responsibilities within the characters' group. An ordinary member cannot appoint officers or promote other members.
A leader or officer can choose “Invite someone” and select a person standing nearby. Check whom you are inviting: the recipient decides whether to join.
An in-game role does not grant administrative authority over players. Leading a group and serving as project staff are separate responsibilities.
The group treasury
A member can voluntarily contribute some of their own money. Open the group with F3, choose “Treasury,” then “Contribute money.” Enter the amount, choose “Review amount,” and check the group and amount before confirming.
Only the leader can choose “Pay a member.” Stand near the intended recipient, select them, enter the amount and review it before confirming the proposal. The recipient opens their own group menu with F3, checks the group and amount, then chooses “Accept payment” or “Decline payment.” The proposal lasts 30 seconds; stay nearby while it is being reviewed.
Closing the leader's window cancels a proposal only before the recipient accepts it. Once accepted, the payment can still finish after the window closes. Do not submit it again while the result is uncertain. If “Check the result” appears, use it to check that same payment or contribution.
Members can open “Recent contributions and payments” and browse its pages. After returning to the game, check the treasury history and your balance before arranging another transfer. A delayed reply does not mean the money was never transferred.
Check responsibilities before a change
| Responsibility | Where to check it |
|---|---|
| Membership and rank | Current group roster, not a recruitment post |
| Treasury payment | Its result and recent history, not the closed proposal window |
| District office | Territories and current stewardship |
| Your own funds | Belongings, separate from the group treasury |
If you return to find a changed role or invitation, read the current group information before repeating an old decision. A previous screenshot is not authority to promote, pay or govern after leadership changes.
Leave a group
Membership is voluntary: a member or officer can leave the group.
Before leaving, the leader must transfer leadership to another member or dissolve the group. Discuss a transfer with the intended successor and check your choice before confirming.
The group cannot be dissolved while its treasury contains money. First decide how to distribute those funds with the recipients' consent.
If the group governs districts, relinquish their control before dissolving it. Ending a group is not a way to skip its treasury or territorial responsibilities.
Dissolving ends the group. Do not choose it instead of leaving if you want the others to continue their shared work.
